Koahnic Broadcast Corp. seeks a talented and driven producer to produce KNBA’s 5-minute daily newscast and other special productions. Producer will deliver compelling news to engage audiences on the air and through digital platforms with natural curiosity, sharp insight and a deep understanding of Native issues.
Successful candidate will produce news and public affairs programing for distribution on broadcast, web, and social media platforms. KBC seeks a dynamic journalist to research, write and produce programs addressing current and cultural events, politics, the environment, economic, social and community issues across the State of Alaska.
The ideal candidate has a detailed and demonstrated knowledge of Native issues and can bring a topic to life for an audience, can effectively communicate verbally and in writing, can deliver on deadline, conduct interviews, assess news and make editorial judgments. Producer will demonstrate ability to keep current on national and local news and trends, can work both independently and as part of a team, and can accurately convey complex issues to diverse audiences. Must demonstrate excellent photography and video storytelling capability, and use social media tools to engage with a wide range of users.
